A Damsel in Distress

A Damsel in Distress

Antonio Skysprinter, Gotthelm, Spam, and Ireak Tal'ra were flying away from Trevura in their ship, The Corvette. Suddenly, the saw a message coming through to their ship.
"How did you guys do?" Yoko Tosh asked them.
"We ran into some problems," Spam began.
"Yeah, there were stormtroopers with weird rifles, and then there was Fannin..." Gotthelm continued. Gotthelm then continued to tell the story of Fannin's demise.
"Well, get the astromech over here to send us the information." Yoko commanded. The astromech unit wheeled over to a computer station and hooked up.
Another incoming message came up,
"Attention all Rebel Ships in the Trevura, Bilbringi, or other nearby Inner Rim systems. We need a ship to go to the Tiro Asteroid Field to recover a ship or salvage one there. There is vital information on board."
"This is the Kicking Calamari, we're not risking our ship in an asteroid field."
"This is the Mynock Sun, a bunch of TIE fighters have our attention at the moment."
Gotthelm's finger closed in on the "talk" button on the dashboard. "This is Gotthelm with The Corvette. We are only an hour away in hyperspace. We'll be there."
"Very well. Thank you Corvette."
After quickly calculating the jump, Antonio brought the ship into hyperspace.

Supposedly, an Alliance frigate was going to stage an attack on a star destroyer to provide a distraction. The hyperspace alarm began to sound and the star lines of hyperspace disappeared. Ireak Tal'ra took a seat at the sensor station, scanning the area. The bothan was concentrating on the viewscreen.
"I've got something!" The Bothan exclaimed. "There is a low frequency distress signal coming from over there," He said as he pointed in a direction.
Antonio piloted the ship towards the signal. The signal lead them to an asteroid with a deep narrow cave. The lights from the ship lit up the ship they were searching for.
"The Stellar Damsel," Ireak said, "It looks like if we are going to rescue a damsel in distress." Everyone except Spam laughed. "Apparently it doesn't translate into whatever language the little animal speaks then." Although Spam may not have gotten the joke, he understood the second sentence perfectly and scraped Ireak's leg with a nearby spear.
"Stop it guys, we need to rescue the 'damsel in distress,' remember?" The Mon Calamari said. He began to open his mouth to say something else but he was interrupted by a shaking of the ship. They all looked outside to see what was going on. A flock of shadowy beings swarmed the outside of the ship. "Mynocks," Antonio said. Spam quickly ran to one of the laser cannons and shot a few shots. Many of the mynocks disintegrated, but a few remained and attached themselves to the ship.
Gotthelm walked over to the food preparation station and got four straws.
"Who ever draws the short straw goes outside." Each took their straw and then measured. They found that the smallest of the group, Spam, had received the smallest straw. Spam crawled into a spacesuit and went outside with a blaster pistol. He blew up the two mynocks and then floated over to the other ship and entered through the airlock.
Spam came into contact with the rest of his group with a comlink.
"Their docking port is damaged. They need to transfer by coming in with spacesuits into our airlock." The first group is already on their way over. I'll come back to get the spacesuits and bring them to the last group."
The second half of the crew had finished putting on their suits when the ship rocked again.
"Spacetroopers," Antonio said to all on board The Corvette and on the comlink. Spam hurried the remaining crew members to The Corvette. Gotthelm took to the firing the ship's weapons. The laser cannon of the ship overwhelmed two of the spacetroopers. One managed to land on the ship and another was just hovering in space, firing at the ship. Once Spam had gotten all of the Damsel's crew members on board, Antonio fired the engines. He rammed the ship into the hovering spacetrooper, and carefully maneuvered the ship to scrape the spacetrooper who was on the ship, off. This maneuver was costly and scraped the top of the ship so hard, everyone on board thought they would die. "We're gonna need a new paint job," Antonio said.
"The asteroid is coming apart! Make this ship go faster!" The Bothan proclaimed.
As the ship exited the asteroid, they noticed a small group of TIE fighters approaching. Ireak and Spam began to calculate the hyperspace coordinates, Antonio continued to out maneuver the approaching ships, and Gotthelm ran to the laser cannon turret on the top of the ship. He began to fire, but noticed it wasn't firing.
"Antonio, you scraped the weapons when you got rid of the Spacetrooper!" He yelled.
Antonio continued to pilot the ship and was anxiously awaiting the completion of the hyperspace coordinates. The ship was taking a constant beating of laser hits. Finally, Ireak ran to the hyperspace computer with the coordinates and began to type them in.
"Faster Ireak, faster. A few more hits and we will be back into the stars in which we came from," Antonio said.
"Done! Hit it!" Ireak said.
Antonio Skysprinter pushed the hyperspace lever forwards. The ship jumped into hyperspace.

After a few hours in hyperspace the ship emerged in Besbrilldra. The group escorted the crew of the Stellar Damsel to their cell location, Yoko Tosh's house. The group rested a few days, while the captain of the Damsel and Yoko exchanged information. Soon the crew was picked up from the planet and Yoko was prepared to deliver them some news that would lead to yet another mission.

Trevuran Testing

Trevuran Testing

Spam and Gotthelm had looked forward to the day when they could once again meet Renci Tosh. They had finally left Ord Mantell and were now headed to the planet that Renci would meet them at. Renci had said that she would set them up in the rebellion. Most non-humans were eager to join the rebellion, hoping for more rights. Spam and Gotthelm were no different. The ship they were on landed on Besbrilldra wihtout any setbacks. They hopped into a hovercab and went to the Drowsy Drall Cantina.
As they stepped out of the hovercab, Renci Tosh ran up to Spam and rubbed his furry head, and shook Gotthelm's hand. She then turned and said, "This is Fannin, Ireak, and Antonio," Acknowledging the Zabrak, Bothan, and Human. "Follow me." Renci walked to a hovercab and beckoned the team to go inside. Five minutes later they arrived at a small house.
A man welcomed them in. "Welcome to our cell. I am Yoko Tosh. Renci considers you loyal and we have given you a mission. We need you to escort this astromech droid to Trevura, where it will confer with the rebel cell there. By the way, you'll need a ship." He reached into his pockets and grabbed a set of keys. "Here are the keys to the Corvette. I'm sure you'll find that she suits your needs quite well."
It didn't take long for the group to reach Trevura. When they arrived, they were still wondering why they were sent to this planet. As they walked about the streets following the droid, they were approached by a pair of stormtroopers. "There are rogue droids among us. May we search your droid?"
"We just arrived on planet. This is not the droid you're looking for," Gotthelm said to the stormtroopers.
"We must search your droid," The stormtroopers repeated. They switched a dial on their blaster rifle and aimed at the droid.
Antonio Skysprinter whipped his heavy blaster pistol from its holdster and quickly fired at one of the stormtroopers, hitting one in the center of its chest. Spam followed suit with his blaster pistol, but the shot seemed to bounce of the armor. Gotthelm drew his lightsaber and ignited it, swinging with all of his power at one of the stormtroopers. The stormtrooper ducked, but Gotthelm got him on the backswing. Ireak Tal'ra pulled out his two blaster pistols and shot them at the final stormtrooper. "It looks like diplomacy wins again," He said, rolling his eyes.
Gotthelm was intrigued by the stormtroopers weapon. It seemed to have an extra function on it besides the normal "stun" and "kill." He said, "Hey, look at this." Gotthelm showed the group the mysterious "Inhibit" setting. Fannin picked up the other rifle and handed it to Antonio.
Suddenly, a blue tinted 3PO droid approached the group. It spoke to Ireak in Bothese. "Pardon my intrusion, sirs. I am T-3PO, a translator droid. My master couldn't help but notice that you have aquired some quite unusual firearms. He has asked me to transport you to our location where he can purchase them from you." Ireak translated the message to the rest of the group and then nodded in agreement.
They followed the droid to a run down garage. An ASP labor droid said, "I heard that you have run into a few interesting possessions. I collect guns and wish to add the interesting guns you have to my collection."
"What do you want the guns for?" Spam asked, with a Basic translation provided by his MTD droid.
"As I said I am a collector. I currently have those guns in my crosshairs of desire. I am an assassin working for the Droid Resistance here on the planet. I will only be here for a few more days and want to make the purchase now." The Labor droid then introduced himself has Essar, and pulled 600 credits from a cavity in his chest. "Now, would you like to sell those guns or..."
Essar was interupted by a large explosion. The door to the garage blew off its hinges and half a dozen stormtroopers filed into the building. Essar produced some stun grenades from inside another chest cavity and began hurling them at the stormtroopers. Spam drew his blaster pistol and nailed a stormtrooper in the helmet. In a matter of seconds all the stormtroopers were knocked out by blaster fire or the stun grenades. Essar once again popped the question, "More stormtroopers will be here soon. Here is the credits. Please let me have the guns."
Fannin grabbed the guns and gave them to Essar. Essar tossed the credits to Fannin and then the group departed to follow the astromech once more. The droid reached the rebel cell and information was poured into its databanks. The group quickly headed to the spaceport to leave.
Before they left, Fannin went to use the 'fresher in the spaceport. While sitting in the 'fresher, one of his thermal detonators exploded. To this day it is still unknown if Fannin commited suicide or if he was just playing with a thermal detonator and he accidently set it. An eyewitness said that he heard someone shout. 'This just isn't fun anymore,' but it is an unconfirmed report. The group quickly mourned his loss and set out to space on their transport, the Corvette.

Fannin the Zabrak
Fannin took on the life of a soldier. Ready to fight for the rebellion. Unfortunatly a thermal detonator explosion blocked his path to glory. May he rest in peace and become one with the force.
Fannin, Zabrak Soldier (Oliver)

Rendezvous at Ord Mantell

Rendevous at Ord Mantell

Spam was an ewok. The galaxy didn't yet know of his species existence, but he existed. One day a spice smuggler had landed on the forest moon of Endor. Spam was fascinated by the ship and crawled on board. The smuggler landed on Ord Mantell and Spam had lived on planet ever since.
Gotthelm was searching. He enjoyed history when he lived on Mon Calamari and remembered stories that the elders told of Jedi. Gotthelm had strange sensations and thought that he might be a Jedi. One night, in a dream, a Jedi came to him and told him to travel to Ord Mantell.

Spam and Gotthelm were sitting next to each other at Qexi's, the local cantina. They were beginning to get acquainted. Gotthelm was interested of the little unknown creature and Spam always enjoyed company. There was a mixture of species in the bar that day. However it was a human who attracted the attention of Spam and Gotthelm. She was wearing ruined expensive clothes. The woman was interested in the little teddy bear of a creature as well and sat next to Gotthelm and Spam.
"Interested in helping out a girl in trouble?" she asked them with a smile.
Spam and Gotthelm were intrigued by the girl. Spam was anxious to do anything and Gotthelm was taught good manners, so they agreed to help her.
"Why not," Gotthelm told her.
"I am a new visitor to this world, and I seem to have fallen afoul to the local crime element. I could use some help getting back to my ship. I can't pay you anything right now -- I have no credits on me -- but I can promise a reward when we get to my ship."
Although Gotthelm was on planet searching for a Jedi, the smell of credits was even stronger.
"If you're interested, we need to get started right away. Can you help me?"
"Of course we'd help," Spam said throughout his translator droid.
"I need to get to my Z-95 headhunter. It's a few days away."
Suddenly, two humans grabbed the woman and started to drag her outside. She screamed.
Gotthelm drew a blaster pistol and took a shot at one of the humans. The human fell clutching his arm. The other human, dropped the woman and ran off.
"Thank you. Those are the guys who are after me. Let's get out of here."
They walked for three days through the wilderness. The woman had told Spam and Gotthelm that her name was Renci Tosh. They ran into many setbacks. A Mantellian Savrip decided to make Spam its meal one night. Fortunately they were saved by the gun of a Savrip hunter. Even a bounty hunter happened upon the group, and tried to capture them. After a long hike, they came to the clearing where Renci claimed to crash her starfighter. There was a small crater proving her story, but the ship was gone. "Would you believe it was here before I ran into you?" Spam had spent a lot of time in the woods and found a set of animal tracks leading away from the crash site. They again spent a day following the tracks through the woods.
After a day of walking, they emerged in front of a mesa. Spam's great eyes say a stairs wrapping their way up the mesa. The group followed him. Halfway up the stars, they were ambushed by two humans. Gotthelm shot one with a blaster pistol a few times. Spam used a spear to stab the second.
Once they reached the top of the stairs, they saw the starfighter. Unfortunately, some raiders on the top of the mesa saw them. The group easily dispatched them as well. It only took a few minutes to repair the starfighter, but the repair work was interrupted by the arrival of Yarroq. Yarroq was a large Trandoshan who used the mesa as his hideout. He was accompanied by two human raiders. Yarroq immediately pulled out his heavy blaster pistol and began firing at the group. Renci, Spam, and Gotthelm fought bravely and took Yarroq and his henchmen down.

The starfighter was eventually repaired. "Well, here is your payment," Renci said with a sigh. "You've handled yourselves pretty well in the last few days. I must admit, I wasn't completely honest with you. In addition to being an explorer, I also occasionally recruit help for some of my friends who are looking for some new recruits. Have either of you heard of the Rebellion?"
Gotthelm's eyes widened at the mentioning of the Rebellion. Spam had a confused look on his face. Obviously, something had gotten lost in translation.
Renci continued, "We're still fairly secretive and quiet, but we're growing in size everyday. If your interested, I can introduce you to some powerful people in my cell. Just swing by Besbrilldra sometime. I'd like to see you again." Renci Tosh jumped into the cockpit and prepared to take off. Just before leaving, she gave Gotthelm and Spam a wink and smile.
After she took off a man approached Gotthelm. The man said, "You must be Gotthelm. I'm Cliff Daley, the Jedi you are looking for. If you are looking to be a Jedi, you must carry a lightsaber." Cliff tossed a lightsaber to Gotthelm. As soon as Gotthelm ignited the lightsaber, Cliff clutched his chest. There was a shimmer from another cliff. Snipers. "Trust the actions in your heart, and you'll be fine. Go on, you must live to see tomorrow. The galaxy is counting on you."
